MUSEUM - Casa Decor 2023

MUSEUM + HARMONY team up with the estudi{H}ac-jmferrero design atelier to surprise this year during the new CASADECOR 2023 edition.

The project that Jose Manuel Ferrero, as creative director of estudi{H}ac has conceptualized this year is called “GEODAZZLE”.

“GEODAZZLE” is the search to make the collections of these two leading brands in the world of ceramics coexist in a single space, which has led to the search for a point of union. A concept that defines them both at a technical and design level, but with an artistic-architectural perspective.

The word geology derives from the Greek "GEO" which means earth, and "LOGOS" treated or knowledge, therefore it is defined as the science of the earth and its purpose is to understand the evolution of the planet and its inhabitants, since the most ancient times to the present through the analysis of rocks, minerals, fossils, soils, forms of relief, formations and geological units as well as landscapes present in a territory.

GEO, would represent MUSEUM, with the new Sublime collection. A very earthy collection, which represents the force of nature for the creation of extraordinary textures on ceramics. The origin of the mineral strata, their order and natural expression, transports us to an irregular grid pattern that randomly combines the 4 new references. This plot leads to the creation of graphic surfaces that explore the functional relationship between the retina of the eye - which "sees" the patterns - and the brain that interprets them. A search to unite space with art, paying homage to Victor Vassarely, father of the abstract artistic current of Op-Art.

And DAZZLE would be HARMONY. With the great variety of contemporary designs with their textures and color ranges, they lead us to create a linear graphic plot inspired by the famous avant-garde camouflage technique based on a complex geometric pattern. A monochrome wall in green tones makes its way. A large horizontal fold splits the wall, allowing natural light from outside to enter in a very subtle way.

Thus, the MUSEUM·HARMONY space represents a great Conceptual Hall. Where the graphic pattern generated from a large ceramic mosaic is applied to the floor and walls, with a large rotating mirror designed specifically for the project, will capture the visitor's attention, generating a sensation of movement and optical effect. It will be like giving life to ceramics through an infinite rotation that breaks the graphic linearity of the mosaic on the wall.

As in any art gallery, there is a support element to admire the works. To do this, within this Hall there is a longitudinal bench design that crosses the room, all of it made of large-format ceramic. A place to rest, admire and discover the MUSEUM HARMONY world. Where it is accompanied by an iconic lamp, a design classic, the Chiara Lamp by Mario Bellini with Flos.

"GEODAZZLE" is a space that aims to surprise, open debate about its materials, its origin and its production and design process. Becoming a space with a great industrial, pure, elegant and forceful character. That takes risks in its aesthetic concept, looking for its artistic look, like a large checkerboard pattern, which was already a trend in the 60s and 70s and is back in fashion, turning the space into a Casadecor "MUST VISIT"!
